Cleveland Indians C/1B Carlos Santana |
A full slate of games were on the Cactus League schedule on Sunday, including the Cleveland Indians splitting squads and sweeping two games to improve to 4-0 early in Spring Training. Cleveland has gotten contributions from everyone it seems, especially one of their lesser publicized offseason additions, Ryan Raburn. Raburn got Sunday off, but he hit two homers on Saturday and has three already in the first weekend of the season. He is expected to platoon for the Indians, but he's making a case to play full-time. He had moderate success in Detroit, but it appears he is focused in 2013 with the Indians.
Here are the scores from Sunday in the Cactus League:
Cleveland 3, Cincinnati 0
Cleveland 7, Milwaukee 4
L.A. Dodgers, Chicago White Sox 2
Oakland 7, L.A. Angels 5
Seattle 8, San Diego 3
Chicago Cubs 4, San Francisco 3
Arizona 8, Colorado 6
Kansas City 7, Texas 5
The Cactus League did not produce near as much big news as the Grapefruit League did on Sunday, but a couple of notables got their first bombs of the spring, as Adam Dunn got his first for the White Sox, and new addition Raul Ibanez of the Mariners launched his first dinger.
